Ruth O’Hara is a professional harpist based in Co. Kildare, available for weddings, funerals, corporate events, solo/chamber recitals, and pedal and Irish harp lessons.
Choose music from an extensive repertoire including classical, traditional Irish, jazz, film, musical theatre and pop music. Any requests that you may have can also be played.
In 2012, Ruth began her study of Irish harp with Ashling Ennis. In 2013, on receiving an entrance scholarship to the Royal Irish Academy of Music, Dublin, Ruth studied pedal and Irish harp for ten years under Áine Ní Dhubhghaill. From an early age Ruth’s passion and dedication to harp was evident, being a Feis Ceoil first prize winner and receiving distinction and numerous high achiever awards in Royal Irish Academy of Music (RIAM) grade exams. Ruth has performed in numerous venues in Ireland including Dublin Castle, Farmleigh House, The Mansion House, Freemasons Hall and the National Concert Hall. Orchestras Ruth has performed with include the Hallé Youth Orchestra, Manchester, the National Youth Orchestra of Ireland and the National Symphony Orchestra of Ireland. Ruth holds an Associate Diploma in Music Teaching and Performance of the Royal Irish Academy of Music (ARIAM) and a Licentiate Diploma in Music Performance of the Royal Irish Academy of Music (LRIAM).
